Erika Tubbin is a self-taught designer with tangled hair and tangled lines on her mind. One who loooves Swedish fika and champagne! The product range has changed and evolved over the years;  from jewellery to lamps, from art prints to dishcloths - always presented in her own unique brand. These days the collections mainly contain kitchen items such as trays and dishcloths. Erika’s design is filled with humorous, thoughtful and - sometimes - slightly daring messages. 

The business started back in 2003 and has since then tangled its way through many different stages to now selling the products through more than 200 retailers around Sweden (and a handful abroad). All products are manufactured in collaboration with various Swedish/European high-quality companies. Small scale  production and as much as possible with environmentally friendly methods/materials. The studio/office is situated in Norrköping, Sweden.

Erika was born in 1970, has a Bachelor's degree in Arts and has earlier worked with marketing and administration at some of Sweden’s top museums. She lives in Norrköping but is also spending lots of time in the countryside of both Östergötland and Härjedalen.


Erikas’s story...

"When I was twelve years old, I bought my own sewing machine. Mom's old mechanical Huskvarna was no longer enough. Used cotton sheets and old lace we had in the drawers were turned into blouses that I sold in my old playhouse. My friends' mothers became the first "volunteers" the customers...

Later in my teens, music and dance took over the creative forces and my university studies led to a career in administration and information at some of Sweden's leading museums. Many years later, I found some silver wire and beads in a craft store and it started tangling into jewelry. First as a hobby, but after a few years I tried my wings as an entrepreneur and in 2005 I left my employment to become a full-time design entrepreneur.

Over the years, the content has shifted from handmade jewelry to printed patterns and clever quotes on various interior details. Currently, I mainly design items for the kitchen area; such as dishcloths, kitchen towels, trays, cutting boards and paper napkins. As a self-taught designer, I tend to keep my designs clean and graphic but always with a personal twist and lots of humor. Today you can find my products in over 120 stores around Sweden. And my range no longer fits in a playhouse.”
